I have battled with depression since I was a little girl. In my late teens and through my middle twenties, (before I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior) the state of depression was my comfort zone and I would actually nurture it, because it was what was familiar to me. Thankfully since becoming a Christian I do not welcome depression any longer, it is not longer my comfort zone... but, I still battle with it. Each time it starts to move in, like dark storm clouds gathering over me, and around me, I find I start beating myself up with condemnation. "You are a Christian! You have been set free in Christ! Why are you "allowing" yourself to feel depressed?!!!" I just want to say, that the Lord did set me free. He set me free from condemnation and the last thing Jesus wants me to do is beat myself up over this. As Christians, we often feel quite vulnerable when we share with others about our struggles... if we share with a non believer, we sometimes feel like we are letting God down, that others are judging Who this Jesus is by our actions, by our lives... or if we share with fellow believers, sometimes we get, "Are you praying enough? Are you doing this or that enough? You need to give it to Jesus!" etc. etc. Which the enemy can use to pile on the condemnation. We also often believe that we are the only one who suffers from this. I am so thankful for the many times that the Holy Spirit showed me great men of God who battled depression too, like David. I am in good company. I will tell you that often when I pray for the Lord to help me with depression, He does and I am better for a while... Often when I really start to just praise and worship Him the depression lifts... but then there are times when it threatens to swallow me up.... and I pray, and I try and I can't seem to come out of it... I have been depressed for several months now. I have been praying for help for this and for some other things as well... As hard as I tried to fight it, to resist it, it remained my constant companion.
Years ago I took an anti depressant for about a year. My doctor told me that it was mild and non addictive. Since the time that I went off of it I have these little mini seizures that are kind of like when you are falling asleep and jerk awake. I am awake, but I can feel it coming, and my body jerks. The neurologist ran many tests and finally told me that all he could do is put me on seizure medication that would mask the symptoms but not take care of the cause... so I opted to forgo the medication. All this to say that 12 years later I still have these little seizures and because of my experience, I am not willing to go on anti depressants anymore, so they were not an option.
Soooo as I was saying, I have been praying, asking the Lord for help to get me out of the depression and also help with other things as well... my health, and with finances. My friend Lynn kept posting about this pink drink called Plexus Slim and I kept reading about all of these people who were being helped with many of the health issues I have... brain fog, severe allergies, arthritis, fatigue, depression, anxiety, etc. Finally I thought, maybe I don't have to settle for my current state of health... maybe it is not just who I am, because I am getting older... so I tried it... This is only day 5 on the Tri-Plex Combo and the depression has lifted! I have more energy, I am not as irritable and moody. I am coming out of this brain fog, I have less pain. My arthritis is better than it's been in years and I am not stiff. I can actually get off the chair without pushing myself up... I have even been doing it sometimes without thinking about it. And I am loosing weight which I really wanted to do, but in comparison to the health issues, I am even more excited about the way I feel.... Plexus is changing my life... I am getting ME back... I had almost accepted that the fun, bubbly Daleea was of the days of yor.... lol
I was a total skeptic! I thought how can this stuff possibly help? Then I started researching about Candida. I found that I have many of the symptoms, auto immune diseases, and conditions that your body can suffer from when you have a Candida infection. We all have a small amount of it in our body to help with decomposition when the time is right, but if we have ever taken an antibiotic we are susceptible to our bodies being overrun with this Candida fungus because the antibiotic also kills off the good bacteria that helps to combat these little beasties. Once I learned that 80% of our health and immune system begins in our gut. It started to make sense. No wonder I was a mess. Then I learned that the gastrointestinal (GI) tract produces over 95% of the body’s serotonin – the body’s natural “Feel Good Hormone”. So I am asking myself, why then are doctors focusing on anti depressants that deal with the serotonin in the brain, when the focus needs to be on good gut health that produces almost all of the serotonin. By ridding the body of Candida, and replenishing the good flora, helping your colon to get in a healthy state, your body is able to begin to function the way that God designed it to. AND, Plexus is helping me do it the natural way without horrible side affects!
I am thanking God for answering my prayers for help. I truly believe that He is the One Who led me to this product, to this co. and only 5 days in, I am getting myself back. Every time I start to think about my physical and metal state just a short time ago, and how I feel now... I feel like I am going to start to cry with tears of joy and relief... and gratitude. I am so thankful I did not settle, thinking that was my reality and it was just the way it was and was going to be.
If anyone has taken the time to read all of this, first I want to thank you... although it leaves me feeling vulnerable sharing about my battle with depression, when I found something that helped me with that and with so many other things too, how can I not put myself out there to tell others that it could help them too! Please message me if you any questions. If I don't know the answer I will try to find out for you... and if you know of someone who struggles with depression I encourage you to be gentle... it is so easy to judge someone, to think they are being weak, or whatever may go through our minds. I am telling you that when you are battling something that is trying to swallow you up, it takes strength to get out of bed in the morning... to take care of your family, go to work, etc... and when our body is out of whack, it can cause a state of turmoil in all aspects of our life. It's not just a "state of mind" or a "state of spirit"....
and now I am going to end this book. Please be gentle in your comments if you have something to say about depression, or about me.... Thank you. :) God's blessings and God's healing to you...
