Divine Appointments...

Our family moved to Roatan, Honduras six weeks ago to serve Jesus in the mission field.  It has been quite a transition for each of us, and we are still adjusting to all of the changes in our lives.  How we thank God for helping us each step of the way.
Our new home church is Calvary Chapel Roatan.  Adjacent to the church is the Son Rise Mission Inn where our family is living in a little apartment the Lord has provided for us.  Many of the people who attend here live in the colonia just up the hill from us.
One thing the Lord has shown me is His faithfulness to meet you when you step out to serve Him.   You don't have to make big plans on how you are going to serve Him, or what you are going to do.... You just follow His lead, and step out and you will find the Lord has divine appointments in store for you.  Each time we visit the colonia I am blessed and amazed by how God orchestrates the venture.  All we have to do is show up!  We walk into the colonia and He brings brothers and sisters in Christ right to our path.  Some we know from church, some we don't... for those we already know, we are able to minister to them as we lift them up and edify them in the Lord.  Those we don't know we just follow His lead and we start talking to them.  Holy Spirit gives us the words to minister to them as well.  It is an amazing thing to be a part of His plan to minister to people... (You are part of His plan to do just that.)  It brings them such joy just to know people care.  We talk with them, encourage them, pray for them, share from the Bible with them.   Then there are those that Holy Spirit points out to you.  You are not certain what it is He wants you to say but you say, "Yes, Lord."  and you go in.  We usually start by smiling and saying Hello.  Then we ask if they are a Christian.  If they say no, or act like they are not sure that they are, we give them a Gospel Tract and tell them how Jesus loves them.  Often there is a language barrier since we are in the process of trying to learn Spanish, but sometimes our friend, and fellow missionary is with us who speaks Spanish and we are able to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them and pray with them.
Each time as we walk home from the colonia we are overflowing with the joy of the Lord.... in awe at how good Jesus is... at how wonderful it is that He would allow us to be His hands and feet... that He can use someone like us... To God be the glory!
I just want to encourage each of you today... to ask Jesus what He wants you to do today... to make you sensitive to those divine appointments He has in store for you.  It may be at the gas station, or the check out line at the grocery store, it may be with a co-worker.... there may even be several people He has chosen for you to minister to.    Hanging out with Jesus is such an adventure!  It is so amazing that as you do, as you seek to serve Him by serving others... God ends up blessing YOU too!
May we say, "Yes, Lord." to the plans He has to use us for the Kingdom of God... to use us for His good pleasure...
So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.
Zecharia 4:6
